hmm, just finished my daily dose of CNN. the reason i watch CNN in the afternoon instead of BBC for my daily news fix? 2 words. max foster. ok he's not THAT cute, but i love brit accents. besides, he's MUCH cuter than the old geezer that's the BBC anchor. and i like his partner monita rajpal.

right, now that we've all stopped laughing, let's examine the difference between 1st and 3rd world countries. i know this may seem stupid but bear with me. the president of iraq...considering he's a PRESIDENT of a COUNTRY, one would think that his press conferences would take place in some part of his residence or in a clean, probably airconditioned office somewhere rite? that's the images we're all used to when we see bush, or blair or lee hsien loong talking to the press. well at least you wouldnt expect houseflies. rite? WRONG! the Iraqi president was giving a press conference recently and this housefly just kept buzzing around him and landing on his cheek and head and ear and he kept swatting it away. can ANYONE imagine lee kuan yew swatting a fly? he'd kill the maintainence guy of the building he's in before swatting the fly probably. i'm sorry, i just found this whole thing pretty odd and funny. a president swatting a fly on international tv.
today in the newspaper i read an article about one of Australia's top Muslim clerics, comparing women who don't wear veils to uncovered meat, basically implying that muslim women who don't veil are inviting rape.yeah i'll pause a minute to let you all regain conciousness. occasionally somebody in this world says something so stupid that you just stop short. this is one of them. is he forgetting the number of women in Muslim countries who DO wear the veil that are raped(by their own husbands sometimes), killed, forced into child marriages, subjected to honour crimes or generally mistreated every single day? i hate men. they say the dumbest shit sometimes.
in other not so important news, madonna has adopted a child from Malawi. somehow CNN and BBC thinks this is big news just cos some NGOs and child welfare organisations in Malawi are protesting that Madonna cut corners during the adoption process. CMON!! the child will be leading an infinitely better life in london with madonna than in an orpahange in Malawi! just let it be!! and to make things worse, it's headline news everywhere!! when CNN aired the segment i decided it was time to switch over to BBC in the hopes of seeing something a bit more important. lo and behold, the same Madonna crap was being played on BBC. it was then that i decided to turn off the tv. what a waste of airtime.
there are earthquakes in australia and snowstorms in colorado(where daddy dearest is!!). can mother nature GET any freakier?? not likely.

something nick said at farewell assembly really struck a chord with me. about how its not the big college occasions but the little things in class which is what's gonna stick with us after we leave. i mean of course i'll remember the big stuff but what i'll cherish more is the little stupid stuff with 11. like how aga would do something silly and we'd all go "don't tell anyone?" and she'd nod and we'd all laugh. and how the 2 of us would be talking about man u and swooning over hot guys while xinyi would laugh at us. or how bob and i would shake our head and mutter under under our breath when *certain ppl* asked dumb stuff in class.how we love to suan sean and call him arrogant.how we love to call jonny fatty even tho we love him. how we skip lectures/stone in lectures/gossip in lectures. sit at the back in tutorials and chat. whack each others' knees to get the reflex kick.try to pull our arvin's leg hair with him shouting "STOP PULLING IT! THEY TOOK 18 YEARS TO GROW!!", me pinching arvin, him teaching me how to kill ppl(seriously he really did). playing 'who would you do'.so many more. i love this class...they made my life in TJ infinitely better.

i have no idea what i did to it. i jumped off the assembly podium in school this morning and when i landed i felt/heard this little pop or crack i'm not too sure. at first it was just a little pain. and now, it's bloomed into a full blown I-THINK-I-BROKE-MY-FOOT kinda pain. of course it doesnt help that i was walking around in suntec after school today.omg sometimes i forget to breathe cos of the pain and realise later that i'm holding my breath. and as i hobbled home from the bus stop ppl were giving me these weird, concerned looks (especially the women).been trying to avoid my mum cos she'll get worried. so i stole the ice pack from the freezer and am now holed up in my room.with a wrapped up, swollen foot. holy shit la i have maths tmr how to go??
it was the official last day of school today so everyone was taking pictures all day long. my class, being lucky had phys lecture and free period (essentially 2 free periods) so we were just running around the school taking lame pics.i expected to cry at farewell assembly considering i cried at Mrs Lim's farewell last year and sobbed like a little kid at my cedar graduation.i cried so much i couldnt even get thru the school song in cedar :(. but the assemble wasnt sad at all...i doubt that there were any tears at all by anybody actually. after school we went to suntec to eat kenny roger's cos we've all been craving macaroni and cheese for days and days. had a lot of fun taking pics and playing word games. apart from the throbbing foot of course.
man u tonight. hopefully the team is full strength. i hope we win i hope we win i hope we win!! cmon red devils make me proud. and can wayne rooney just score and put this loss-of-form nonsense behind him.

yesterday was bob's bday so happy bday bob. hope u had fun 'playing' with wentworth. yesterday night was man u vs wigan.rio was captain! first half man u played 433 which was not effective. super goal from baines the wigan leftback...hope he displaces ashley cole from england, but that's just me. he was super against germany for england U21s.another super goal in that game as well.
towards end of first half man u improved a lot. then i think a combination of a change of tactic to 442, intro of ryan THE MAN giggs and fergie's half time hairdryer proved highly effective. man u were rampant. possession at the end was 62-38 i think. fabulous goals .the one from vidic.he had to arch backwards to reach the ball and still it was such a power header.and when he celebrated. aiyohhhhh..so cute. aga was at family dinner so i was providing sms commentary and it went something like this.

today is the best day. you know why? cos it's SCOTT PARKER'S BIRTHDAY!!! me and aga actually wanted to have a private party and share a piece of cake but we figured we would look too psycho if we actually did it. but we wished each other happy birthday anyway. justin wished us too...and even peixun(albeit cluelessly) shook our hands. funny.
hmm england lost. very good. we all predicted it. poor robinson. he's really being unfairly blamed. if not for him they would have lost by more.germany won. my 3 favourite germans scored. i think either germany, portugal or italy will ein euro...tho as usual i'm hoping spain win...but even when they have a good team they dun make it. yeah i dun get it either.
finally tried the polar cafe crab puff today when i went to the airport to study.its not bad la...managed to accomplish some chem. 3 VJ tutors were next to us marking promo scripts. quite funny to hear them commenting on handwriting and such. the bio teacher gave up in the end and started reading her storybook.
i think SBS should widen the leg space on buses. i'm seriously getting DVT la...so cramped. having terrible muscle aches now cos i was in such a weird position. *pout*
was looking forward to my mum trying out her 'sotong in chili crab sauce' recipe...came home to discover that she hadnt cooked cos she went to see ' the departed' WHICH BY THE WAY IS M18!!! KNN! where's my sister and her IC when i need it. ya was majorly disappointed abt the food thing, especially since all i got in return was cheapo cold storage sushi and all thru dinner i was thinking about how shiying was enjoying nicer sushi at sakae.
today was our last chem lect ever. there were like 100 ppl max in the lt. so cheryl decided to spectacularly end her chem career by switching seats every 5 minutes. she would move diagonally downwards until finally, she ended up next to grace. and here's the real kicker. arvin had a roll of toilet paper in his bag and he tore off three long strips to make it look like A4 paper on her table. so it was a requirement that she take those 3 strips of toilet roll, her ipod and phone with her every time she moved. and she did it. i was crying silently with laughter. and ppl were staring at her with their mouths open. and then finally, the crowning moment.i had to climb over the row infront of me and march down to join cheryl and grace, with the roll of toilet paper in my hand(THANKS ALOT ARVIN!!! :S) it was so damn funny la.and the lecturer dint notice a thing. i think grace's class thinks we're all psychos. oh well..you only live once.
the mystery of the cheapo paper used by the econs dept has been solved by the way.

AH i'm addicted to coffee. i swear it's true. to be more specific, nescafe ice coffee original flavour.been doing lotsa maths and phys and chem lately. yay i managed to get thru nov04 chem paper 2 without wanting to kill myself. improvement i say! i dint even have much to ask miss tay during consultation.tadah!! clapclapclap.
the econs dept has gone environmentally friendly and has started giving us notes on recycled paper. or maybe they're just cheapo i don't know. i'll give them the benefit of the doubt eh?
spain vs argentina friendly tonight. OMGGGGGGGGGGG what channel is it on i'm dying to watch. even xiao j thinks villa is cute la! instead i'll probably watch england vs croatia. you know, after EVERY insipid england performance i tell myself that i'll never watch england again. but i always end up watching cos there's this hope that they'll start playing better. tonight i am watching for one reason only. scott parker is starting as a defensive midfielder. oh mama that man is so hot. i really hope i dont fall asleep after half an hour again. i wanna watch portugal and germany games oso, but they're all delayed telecasts and i have to go to school tmr(why am i going? nothing happens!!)

SO LONG!" and here i am, 18 years old. eek where did all that time go. i cant wrap my head around the fact that after A levels, I'll never put on a school uniform again. never have morning bitching sessions again. never snicker and gossip at the back of class with my classmates again. and a whole load of other things i've taken for granted. AHH! HOWWWWWWWWWWW! it's a bit frightening considering this is the only constant i've ever known. |

np: JT - sexy back
friday night was mad! i tell you the lengths my friends and i go to for each other. went to meet jema and mich at harbourfront at 5 plus to mug for a while before going to grace's house. as you might have guessed, not much mugging was done. i memorised a few organic rxns...yeah that was about it. sally was LATE!! but arrive she did and we went to the toilet to change. cedar blouse, board shorts, sunglasses, heels and the weirdest tie i could possibly find. those were the requirements. i swear to GOD i looked like i had escaped from IMH!! so we walked thru harbourfront shopping centre, braving the stares from curious onlookers, laden with the saxophone, guitar, lanterns and various schoolbags. caught a bus and freaked out along the way about whether we were lost or not. when we finally got off at grace's bus stop we put everything down to check for our phones and wallets which were lost in a mass of clothes and books inside our bags. unfortunately for us, there was a BIG group of teenagers at the bus stop. they were staring. hard. especially when mich blew on the sax and while we were putting on our hats. the performance was hilarious. we kept laughing and halfway thru happy bday had to stop for mich. oh and did i mention the out of tune guitar with only 4 strings (2 broke cos we dropped the damn thing). so it was funny. and now there's a video of it floating around in grace's camera that better not see the light of day. took many many pictures. i would upload them here, but everytime i try to install the camera software my com crashes. so i've given up. if you're lucky i'll show them to you personally.haha. and don't laugh at me.
saturday night the haze was so friggin thick. psi 150!!! my god. i could smell the burnt smell in the air. england game at midnight. so damn boring that i went to sleep after half an hour. final score. 0-0. thank god i dint stay up la. i would have hung myself. czech thrashed san marino 7-0! seven!! SEVEN!!!!! wah! germany 2-0 very nice goals shweinsteiger you are the MAN! portugal 3-0 ronaldo 2 goals =D what else. oh wales lost 5-1 but the goals in that game damn nice. scotland beat france!!! darren fletcher!! he dint score and i dont particularly like him but whatever! SCOTLAND BEAT FRANCE!!!!!!! yay.
sunday. hmmm...watched tv from 6-11 la just kill me. robbie williams concert from 9-11...i swear that man is the BEST performer. his 'let me entertain you' that night was the best i've EVER seen. and angels. it was so good it almost made me cry. i think it almost made HIM cry too!
today morning had a good chat with aga while accomplishing some maths. gp mock was damn difficult and damn boring. it was last year's paper. the AQ was so damn hard la i'm surprised my sis got as high as an A2. i just kept stoning la. i think every time aga looked at me i was stoning la. right aga? haha.urgh. i hate AQs...every time i think i did horribly i pass and every time i think i did ok i'll fail. and i usually think i did ok. yeah..
in other small, not so important news. north korea has tested a nulear missile and singapore as described this action as 'rash'. does anybody who reads this care? yeah me neither. ok no i'm kidding. its big news and i care. i think kim jong il is a fool. how about giving your ppl some food instead of spending money on hair implants and nuclear bombs. and frankly i think singapore could have come up with a better reply than 'rash'. seriously man. c'mon! RASH?! how abt 'unpardonabl, 'despicable', unacceptable'...'rash', like no kick like that. ok whatever i'm rambling.

np: blur - tender.
ahh.been a pretty good few days in terms of food. my mom made the best pork rib soup EVER a few days ago. wah i couldnt stop drinking it la. yummy. it was so damn perfect. not as perfect as scott parker, but close.then yesterday night's mashed potatoes that my mum made. with little bacon bits and mayonnaise.mmm...and the crowning glory. today.
morning: chocolate donut
break: ban mian from school with lotsa chili padi. woots!
lunch: mrs ho's pizza hut treat.
dinner: steamboat at grace's house cos its her birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAREST!
lunch was hilarious la. when the messagecame that the pizzas had arrived, there was a mad rush(ok mostly the boys) to the canteen. it was fun sitting around with my class gorging. Mrs Ho found out abt 'current' and was so mean la. she actually asked darren to go over and call her and ask her whether she liked 'someone.' so embarassing. the poor girl refused to come over. and the ENTIRE class, was HOWLING with laughter.we had talentime after that, where mrs ho asked ppl to go do different things. i swear to God, maria and weldon's pole dance was the most repulsive thing i have EVER seen in my life. my eyes were just huge in disgust. my having to salsa with sean paled in comparison.jonny's feiyuching impersonation was really funny.
went home with joanne and mich. had a good gossiping session en route to town. and now i cant wait to go to grace's house tonight.
england plays tmr!! commentry with aga starts at 1130...or is it 1150...aiyah dunno la, sometime around there la.

np: shayne ward - no promises
eh i like this song. its so romantic. and the guy is cute in an unconventional way. ya'll should watch the vid. i like guys who can dance like how this guy does.
ah yesterday afternoon was so much fun. school was really really boring. it was so bad that i fell asleep in phys lecture. now you probably know that i dont really fall asleep in classes. if i'm bored or tired i'll start stoning, but i don't actually nod off...so now you can tell how bad school was yesterday. sean bob me and aga all sitting in one row fell asleep. as we were trying to prevent ourselves from nodding off, aga and i were imagining the entire spanish team in suits. hahaha it was FUN. and then of course the convo switched to scott parker. every time we mention his name we go into this uncontrollable fit of grinning, laughing and blushing(or rather turning red from our laughing) all at once. and when the 2 of us split up for different lessons like chem or lit our parting line is now "scott parker go with you" haha ya we're mad whatever.
went to gelare with arvin aga and bob after school. thank u for paying for the cab fyt!! at first i was bummed that only four ppl agreed to go cos i thot it was supposed to be a class outing. but when i got there i realised it was gonna be so much fun. we had so much to talk about we stayed for like 2/2.5 hours. confessions, expositions, jokes, everything. and of course, the occasional exclamation of scott parker!! from me and aga, which would send us into a fit of giggles while bob and tang looked on in amazement/exasperation. i put my foot in my mouth MAJORLY at one point. and the others laughed so hard they couldnt explain what was so funny in what i said! -_____-. ha anyway sorry aga! i seriously had like no clue!! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN NOBODY TELLS ME ANYTHING DAMMIT!! lol. but it was all good.it was just what i needed to release a lot of pent up stress and anxiety. just to talk and laugh for a few hours. over the biggest darn waffle i'll ever see or eat.
the good mood carried over to this morning, even though i was pretty tired from going to sleep late. did some chem and phys during chem lect. had a little break before next period so went with bob to the canteen to get coffee. saw aga sitting at a table listening to her mp3. here's what followed.
bob(from about 5 meters away): aga!!
-aga was oblivious. dint even hear us-
bob: AGA!!!
-still no answer-
me: try yelling scott parker. she sure will turn around and look.
bob: SCOTT PARKER!!
-aga immediately looked up and that was when bob and i collapsed with laughter-
me: i knew it would work!
hur hur. pretty darn funny. when for chem tut where me bob tang, KS and small j were talking about how much we love bsb. oh man they are the best boyband EVER!xin yi theorised that actually almost everyone likes them but are just too pai seh to admit it.i agree. then of course tang had to open his mouth and completely BUTCHER i want it that way. stupid boy.
ya so that was school the past 2 days. zhongshan burned a CD of our concerts last yr and this yr. he asked the com to split cost with him. i dint reply and have been avoiding him ever since. no seriously. i actually grabbed arvin and ran when i saw him before chem remedial. i'm mean i know. oh well...was listening to the cd just now. wow. lots of memories. i sort of miss singing. and its funny how when you remember a song, you remember it for life. i found myself humming along perfectly to songs where i havent seen the score or heard it in a year. the brain works in wonderous ways. ok its time to bathe and conquer some chem. toodles. |

have i said how much i love this song? yes i have. but i'll say it again. i LOVE this song.
whee man u beat newcastle. awesome performance from the devils, especially vidic and ronaldo. 2 goals, none conceded, 3 points, back at the top of the table. all is right in EPL world. and of course...SCOTT PARKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG this guy is one hot sexy hunk of MAN!! haha i think almost every message aga and i sent to each other during the match last night had some variation of "WAH SCOTT PARKER IS SO HOT!! I LOVE HIM!!" his cheekbones...and freckles. so darn cute la. new eye candy. and he's in the england squad. yay. haha i realise aga and i have like, identical taste in footballers. very fun talking about them with her. haha. like for example today morning before going to talk to her in the canteen i did 4 complex numbers questions. while sitting with her, i did half. that's how much we ramble on. but i dont care, its too fun.and talking abt the spanish squad. haha.ok before i drool on my keyboard i shall move on and show u a pic(or 4) of scott parker. if ya'll dun think he's hot then your eyes got big problem.

anyway....school was boring today. forrest gump said, 'life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get!" well boys are like that too. was talking to bob in chem and phys and expounding that a lot of guys are never what they seem to be, no matter how nice you think they are. like my maths&phys tutor mr lim says, "all singaporean guys below the age of 30 are stupid!" at the time i just laughed. now i'm beginning to think he's right. this is why i'll never regret my decision to not date while in JC...not that any guy likes me oso, but that's besides the point. who wants to be liked by tj boys anyway?
got a shit load of chem to do. PCD new song not bad ah? i don't need a man. amen to that. |
